This time of year is hard on patients that are undergoing Chemo and radiation treatments. The treatments decrease the patients immune system drastically. Any little cough, sneeze or sniffle can be scary. Most patients you see this time of year are wearing masks to help them avoid picking up anything that maybe floating around in the air. You can help by making sure you
* covering your mouth when coughing,
* sneeze into a Kleenex (put your boogie and germs in the kleenex not in the air or on any thing else)
*WASH YOUR HANDS (Don't forget your thumbs too! )
* Do not go out and about when your sick .... remember nobody wants it and nobody needs it .
With all the cold and flu bugs going around patients are always having to make sure they are not running a fever. Fever in a patient undergoing treatments can become very very dangerous and end up effecting their treatments and possibly their life if not addressed in a timely manner.
So with Mrs. Janet Gordon's donation we are making sure all the patients, who will receive a Comfort kit this month will also be receiving a digital thermometer to assure that they can monitor their temperature this cold and flu season.
Thank you JANET ( & her Husband REX) for the very meaningful and helpful donation. Its support like yours that can make a difference.
